Harry is studying towards a PhD degree under the supervision of Professor Richard Green with provisional title being “Automated Tree Model and Metric Extraction from Point Clouds.”
What are you researching?
I am researching 3D modelling of Trees. A series of images are used to create a 3D model of a tree.
This model is useful for AgriTech applications such as automated pruning as-well as providing useful parameters (breast height (DBH), tree height, crown width, and branch structure,) to aid in carbon sequestration estimates, growth monitoring and wood estimation .
What do you love most about your research?
When my solutions work effectively and can be applied directly to real-life problems.
