Andrew is a Masters student in Computer Science and Software Engineering being supervised by Prof Richard Green.
Andrew is working on a robotic arm path finding algorithm for the grape vine pruning robot, given the 3D reconstruction of the vine and selected cut points. The focus is on developing or adapting an algorithm to be efficient and reliable for the particular application, software to operate the robotic arm and make decisions around cut sequencing, and development of a pruning tool design.
His thesis title is : “Robotic arm path planning for automatic grape vine pruning”
